Clover RPG Tier List: Compare Magic, Races and Weapons
Clover RPG tier list comparison names its sources, shows where rankings disagree, and separates race, trait and weapon recommendations from verified facts.
Updated
Which magic is strongest in Clover RPG?
There is no agreed answer. At least three different rankings are in circulation and they do not line up: one puts Time alone at S, another pushes Beast and Wind to the top, a third argues Light and Wind are the safer picks. None of these are official balance tables — they are player judgements, and they only make sense alongside the patch and the game mode they were made for.
Where the three rankings split
| Ranking | S tier | Everything else |
|---|---|---|
| Gamezebo | Time | Beast at A, Lightning and Shadow at B, Wind at C, Flame and Light at D |
| Pro Game Guides | Light, Wind | Time, Beast and Lightning at A, Flame and Shadow at B |
| Destructoid | Beast, Wind | Time and Light at A; Flame and Shadow at B; Lightning at C |
The widest disagreement is over Time and Wind. Time is S in Gamezebo and A in Destructoid. Wind sits at C in one table and at the very top in another. Different placements do not establish whether the cause is criteria, version differences or incomplete evidence.
The table compares the published evaluations checked on October 25, 2026. It is not an official consensus or this website's gameplay test. The original articles need to be read for their own scope and unresolved points.
Races: the two S-tier options pull in opposite directions
Pro Game Guides places Lesser Angel and Lesser Demon at S, for survival and physical damage respectively. The race, trait and weapon assessments below follow that guide's published evaluation, rather than a merged official ranking.
Pro Game Guides describes Lesser Angel's Divine Retribution as restoring 15% health instead of a lethal hit, once per life. On top of that it carries +10% magic resistance and +40 Energy, and if you run the Spirit line your pact progresses faster and Spirit Dive lasts longer. That is why it is the most broadly applicable race right now: it fits almost any build.
Lesser Demon is the physical ceiling. Its Wrath Unbound passive stacks damage while you keep landing melee hits without being interrupted, up to 25% bonus physical damage, backed by physical resistance, health and Devil bonuses. The stated condition concerns melee hits without being hit; being out of range is not independently established as a stack-reset trigger.
Both A-tier races are caster options. Dark Elf gives 5% bonus spell damage, 10% mana regeneration and +10 Energy. Elf cuts spell mana cost by 15% and adds +20 Energy. The first raises output, the second extends how long you can keep casting; if you keep running dry, Elf is the fix.
B tier is Eldritch and Dryad. Eldritch is 2.5% bonus physical damage, +10 health and +2 maximum Resolve — small numbers, but all of them stable. Dryad's Nature's Grace grants health regeneration for a while after taking damage and adds +10 Energy, though how much it restores and what exactly triggers it has not been pinned down. C tier is Human, with +15% sale value plus NPC bargaining and persuasion bonuses. Note that this is selling, not buying — an easy one to remember backwards.
Traits: pick by build, not by tier
Three at S. Mob Slayer adds 10% damage against monsters, with bosses still unconfirmed as counting. Arcane Rebound restores mana when you land a parry or dodge. Graceful Escape extends your dodge frames by 10%. The first two serve PvE and casters respectively; the third is useful on anything that stacks agility.
In A tier, Weapons Expert converts a single point into 50% faster weapon proficiency gain. That is excellent early and depreciates once proficiency is maxed. Liver Shot, Follow Through and Deceptive Momentum form a Misdirect package covering damage, repositioning and a re-roll after the follow-up. Critical Aerial gives your airborne M2 guard-break capability. Iron Rebound and Unyielding Bastion are a defensive chain against repeated knockdowns — mind the prerequisite points. Mana Skin and Tempered Body resist spells and physical damage respectively, but each costs 6 points, which makes them expensive insurance.
B tier is situational. Rapid Recovery and Strong Core are emergency buttons, and Rapid Recovery is also the prerequisite for Iron Rebound. Crippling Fakeout is the slow on the Misdirect line. Dirty Casting and Glass Cannon serve a caster's opener or penetration. Potion Savant and Mad Alchemist improve potion strength and drink speed. Hyper Adrenaline and Survivor's Fury grant offence and defence below 25% health, which makes them a safety net rather than a plan. C tier holds only Superiority Complex, +5% damage against opponents using the same magic — far too narrow to build around.
A few traits sit outside combat entirely: Lucky Miner for mining, Bargain Master for sale prices, Tailwind for broom speed, Pick-Me-Up to reduce death drops.
One trap to avoid: Bounty Hunter. Its description states that PvE experience is halved and the change is irreversible, while the upside is unclear. Do not touch it while levelling.
Weapons: read the numbers directly
In light weapons, Clover Gauntlets are the clear outlier at 18 damage with 7 scaling, needing only 5 proficiency — the same range and Speed as Ironclad Gauntlet but far more damage. Bloodthorne and Luminous Thorn follow.
In medium, Balmung's 17 damage is the highest in class with 6 scaling. Both Widowbane versions run 9.5 range with 7 scaling, which suits a spacing playstyle.
The heavy tier is tight. Ceremonial Greataxe has the highest damage on the table at 23. Mournblade trades exactly 1 damage for identical scaling and range but higher Speed. Bone Reaper puts out 10 range — tied for the highest — and the best Speed among heavy weapons, giving up per-hit damage for feel.
Among light weapons, Elderthorne and Luminous Thorn are nearly identical: Elderthorne loses 1 damage but gains Speed. Do not trust Eldrean Sickle's listed placement yet — the referenced range is 4, but the material does not establish that this is an error. Current measurements remain unconfirmed.
Why the rankings contradict each other
The sources do not provide a common test protocol or matched patch conditions. PvP and PvE scope, author preferences and incomplete mechanics are possible explanations, not proven causes for every disagreement. Lightning and Beast passive descriptions marked TBA indicate documentation gaps; they do not establish that the effects are unimplemented.
Rarity is not strength
A low drop chance does not mean better combat performance. Time sits at 1% and lands at S in one table and A in another, which by itself shows rarity and power are separate questions. For the probability distribution, see magic rarity; for unlocking and rerolls, go back to magic and grimoires.
How to build your own judgement
Rather than copying a table, work through three steps. Decide whether you mainly play PvP or PvE. Decide whether your damage comes from spells or a weapon. Then pick race and traits to cover the gaps. Casters look at mana and spell damage first; melee looks at physical damage and survivability. Most disagreements come from people assuming different playstyles rather than from numbers actually conflicting.
Beyond the tiers
Two elements in the same tier can perform very differently under different hands. If you prefer stability, you do not need a high-risk burst build; if you play PvP, you do not need the sustain that PvE rewards. Use rankings as reference and your own testing as evidence, and you will avoid most of the traps.
FAQ
Which table is most accurate? There is no single answer. Read several side by side and note each one's date and assumptions.
Does rarity equal strength? No. One is how hard it is to roll, the other is how well it performs.
Is B tier unusable? Not necessarily. B tier is often "depends on the pairing" — Flame's basic-attack synergy and Shadow's control potential are both still under-tested.
Is Human's 15% a buying or selling bonus? Selling. It is easy to remember backwards, but the bonus applies to what you sell.
Sources and remaining conflicts
The magic comparison links each original author publication above. The race, trait and weapon sections follow Pro Game Guides, checked October 25, 2026. Exact current stat measurements, unresolved effects and guaranteed combinations remain Unconfirmed / 待确认.
BloxInformer Races labels Lesser Angel and Lesser Demon effects differently from the attributed guide. This conflict is not silently resolved here; do not treat either label mapping as a tested fact solely from this comparison. The Eldritch page separately records its supported bonuses and race-reroll references.
